Penstock Snowshoe - April 5, 2011

Ray and I skiied from Pocaterra in the morning, but by noon the snow was getting quite sticky. So, we switched to snowshoes and started on the Penstock Route. This took us by the penstock in PLPP which caries most of the Kananaskis River to a generating plant downstream. The wooden penstock is quite holey, and the spraying water freezes into fatastic shapes in winter. We did not get far, as we spent so much time photographing the ice!
