Mt. Rundle Sept. 21, 2019
Liam and I were bound for the summit of Mt. Cory today, but were foiled by a road closure for culvert replacement. As Mt. Rundle was also on my bucket list, it was a good alternative. The day was great with lots of sunshine and almost no wind on the lower slopes. We slogged up the trail which was not as bad as I was expecting and easier than Liam remembered from the first time he summitted 15 years ago. It took us almost 4 hours to reach the top, where we stayed for a half hour or so before heading down. It was 4:45 by the time we reached the car, tuckered out with knees a bit weary. We had hiked about 20 kms. and gained 1570 metres.
