Castle Mountain

It was a fantastic day for this hike - no clouds, no wind. It's a long hike - 28Km to the summit and back, but there are no difficulties. Hiking on an old road and then an established trail, we reached Tower Lake after 8Km, and Rockbound Lake 1/2Km later. After a brief rest, we slogged up a steep trail on the east side of the lake, then more up to a knoll with great views. From here it was 1.5 hours with much rock-hopping to circle high above the lake and hike to the summit. The views were tremendous, and another couple at the summit took our picture. It took 4 hours from the top to reach the car - and we were very tired at the end. If there was a downside to the day - it was too many mosquitoes and horseflies.
